Costings

We understand that childcare funding can be extremely confusing. Therefore, we try our best to break it down as simply as possible for our families.

Our Sessions

Your child may be eligible for funding the term after they turn 9 months old. Your child may be entitled to 15 hours or 30 hours of funding each week depending on your family’s circumstances. We can also accept childcare vouchers, tax- free childcare and grants. Please visit Childcarechoices.gov.uk to find out your entitlement.

If you are interested in a draft bill please contact us.

Government funding is only available 38 weeks a year (term time) as we open 50 weeks a year, we provide a ‘stretched offer.’ This means avoiding large, unexpected bills during school holidays we divide the total amount of funding entitlement over 50 weeks.

15 hours- STRETCHED- 11.4 hours
30 hours- STRETCHED- 22.8 hours

Additional Hours:

Hours above your funding entitlement are charged at:

Under Twos: £8 per hour
Two Year Olds: £7.50 per hour
Three & Four Year Olds: £7.25 per hour

Applying for Funding

You must check childcarechoices.gov.uk and make your application for funding before the deadline date.

Once the deadline date has passed, we cannot apply for your funding and you will miss out until the following term.

Once you have applied for your funding, you cannot amend your application on the government website to increase hours until the following term.

Parental Contribution & Food Charge

Every funded hour is subject to a parent contribution (also known as consumable, service or essentials charge).
This covers the cost of everything the government funding does not provide for.
This is charged at £1.30 per funded hour.

Government funding provides us with a much lower rate of payment than the true cost of a place at Little Nest. The government funding is intended to cover the basic level of care and a basic provision of the Early Years Foundation Stage. However, at Little Nest we feel our provision goes above and beyond this basic level the government provide for.

This is where our parental contribution is paramount to ensure we can continue to provide an enhanced service for your children and go an extra mile in everything we do. Our parental contribution is currently £1.30 per funded hour & £3 per day for a hot lunch. At Little Nest we feel it is important to be fully transparent in what this fee covers.

Under the government guidance this contribution remains optional, you can contact us to opt out of this payment. However, in doing this, it will create stipulations of what we are able to provide for your child and the sessions we can offer them.
